There’s something about this photo, don’t you think? It’s a mise en abyme of an artist’s performance. We’re in the San Telmo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, and every Sunday you can see this man dressed in office clothes, as if frozen in time and space, still trapped in his week’s work. This street artist, with his coat and tie blowing in the wind, is in fact perfectly motionless! I took the photo with a slow exposure to give him back some movement, but the image remains completely true to reality… In fact, the people behind him are moving and the man in the foreground is not. On the street, this artist captures passers-by with his immobility; on paper, he surprises us with his speed.
