It’s always difficult to ask someone «Can I take your picture?», hoping to get an interesting and original picture… Most of the time in South America people give a big smile and an OK thumb up 👍… So I try to avoid it, but this pose was just given to me that day! When traveling alone, I like to strike up conversations with strangers on the street or in shops. It’s often them who come up to me to ask questions or tell me about the region they want me to discover. Even if I try to blend in a bit, it’s clear that my status as a traveler is no secret to anyone… Especially with a camera, even a small one. I’d been chatting with this gentleman on the street for a while, and it was like a gift that he surprised me with his amusing pantomime in response to my banal question: «Can I take your picture?
