The San Telmo market in Buenos Aires is an institution. Held all day every Sunday on Defensa street and Dorrego square, it’s teeming with second-hand dealers, artisans and artists. This is where porteños (Buenos Aires locals) gather for their Sunday stroll, while tourists discover one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. At the end of the market, the atmosphere is truly unique to Buenos Aires. As the second-hand dealers pack up their stalls, people dance the tango, sing a little more and some groups come out to play the drums. On this particular day, a little rain intermittently disturbs the ballet of busy people. In this photo, we can see a few drops in the sun’s rays, which pass through the colored bottles before spreading out on the cobblestones. For my part, I’m enjoying my last weeks in Buenos Aires and my weekly visit to the San Telmo market.
