When I’m in northern Peru in the Andes, it’s been over 3 months since I’ve seen the sea, and I’ve just sprained my ankle, so I decide to relax for a few days on Peru’s northern coast, which is famous for its beautiful beaches. In fact, Máncora is very famous… too famous! There are a lot of tourists and I discover an atmosphere that contrasts with the authenticity of the Andean towns and villages. After 3 days, I still don’t feel at ease when I look out of my bedroom window and see this incredible sky taking shape as the sun sets. Without thinking, I grabbed my camera and headed to the beach. That day, January 10, happened to be Guillaume’s day in France, and Máncora still gave me something for it! The next day I’m going to Zorritos, a little further north (almost in Ecuador), a really quiet place that offers the same light, the same view of this part of the Pacific and its unique sunsets.
