Salento is a small traditional village located almost in the center of Colombia, at an altitude of 1,900 m. Visitors are drawn here by the undeniable charm of this village, whose central square is at the top of the small hill on which it is built. People also come here to discover the Cocora Valley and its giant wax palms, which can grow up to 60 m high.
Beneath the current touristy appearance of the village, you can still feel its authenticity and meet its inhabitants.
My camera was in my bag when I saw this lady sitting at her window. I walked a little further and, to get a quick shot, prepared my settings before returning to the house. I then crossed the street to show the picture to my model, who was still in pose:
– Your house is very beautiful, madame
– Where’s this picture going? she asked, both interested and accustomed
– In France…
We had a small conversation and I listened to the instructions she wanted to give me so that I could discover her village in the best possible conditions. She wished me luck, amazed that her image could travel so far, since she had never left this house.
