You may be wondering how I got so close to this bird, nicknamed the «blue-footed booby». This species lives mainly on the Galapagos Islands, but is also found on islands along the coast of Ecuador and northern Peru. And that’s where we were introduced! A resident of an eco-hotel in Zorritos had taken the bird in. She took care of him, cuddled him and became very attached to him. Unfortunately, «Bouba», as she called him, had broken a wing and could no longer fly or survive without her help. With patience and love, she had partially tamed him. As a result, I was able to play with him a bit and take his picture. He made a good model, don’t you think? But beware of fingers and pecks… behind his mischievous, laughing face lies a wild instinct, and it’s best to be on your guard!
